MULTIPLE DEPARTMENTS SENT TO MVC (TRAIN vs. CAR)

2/28/06: A Union Township woman is recovering at University Hospital after her car was struck by a train Tuesday. It happened around 5 p.m. in the 600 block of Round Bottom Road. Police say the woman was pulling out when the collision occurred.

By 5:30 p.m. paramedics were working to free the woman who was trapped inside her car. She was flown to the hospital. Police are still investigating. It's unclear how serious the injuries are. Her name has not been released.

79's RESPONDS TO INDUSTRIAL ACCIDENT WITH INJURIES IN THE VALLEY

2/28/06: A man was seriously injured while he tried to install a satellite dish on a cell phone tower in Springfield Township Tuesday afternoon. The tower he was working on apparently fell over along Ridgeway Road near the Cross County Highway. Police say the man fell about 40 feet and was unconscious when paramedics arrived. His condition has not been released.
